Main Purpose of Job
· Project Management and Technical Consulting Services delivery to predominantly oil refineries, petrochemical, gas processing, LNG and power plants.
· Basic Engineering/Process Design Package Preparation.
· Project Development.
Responsibilities:
Project Related
· Sets/updates project targets reflecting contractual commitments.
· Review / approve process calculations.
· Review / approve simulation modelling and calibration.
· Review / approve flowsheet results.
· Sets project plan, defines resourcing requirements and individual team members' roles and responsibilities.
· Reviews progress / plans with Regional Practice Coordinator (Technical) and Consulting Executive.
· Prepares project control information for internal reporting.
· Supervision of team for larger projects (~$1MM).
Development
· Lead / Execute R&D tasks.
· Input to Technology Development [via Communities of Practice (CoPs)].
Client Relationship Management
· Communicates with client at Working level to ensure streamlined execution, and that scope of work is well understood.
· Reviews / approves client reports.
· Reports progress formally to client.
· Lead Client presentations.
Sales and Marketing Support
· Leads preparation of technical scope / man-hour estimates.
· Assists with / leads client sales visits.
· Participate in developing sales awards in excess of £250K/yr.
· Identify/communicate realistic follow-on sales opportunities.
· Close-out summaries completed for all executed projects.
· Individual client responsibility within the business development.
Company Business
· Ability to support projects for other consulting practices.
· Build / maintain awareness of Company's other solutions.
· Mentoring of subordinate staff.
· Carries out Staff Appraisals.
· Actively lead company Knowledge Management.
· Represent company at industry conferences, present papers.
Experience Required
· Minimum 12 years of experience.
· Corporate Member of Engineering Institute (e.g. IChemE).
· Process plant experience with operator (ideally major energy or chemical company) or through onsite assignments.
· Design package preparation experience with world class technology provider (such as ExxonMobil Engineering, SGS, UOP etc).
· Consulting services delivery.
