"Senior Software Engineer (Java/J2EE)”; Permanent positions (TWO); Semiconductor Company; Singapore based candidates

Job Function:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to deliver significant components of the renovated online platform. You will create and communicate large portions of the website platform’s design and implementation plan, and you will write and maintain most of those parts. You must be a very skilled designer and programmer. You will also be a technology resource for other members of the team, participating in design reviews, code reviews and side-by-side programming. You will stay current with new technologies and innovations in software engineering, and promote those technologies and ideas within the team. Your decisions and actions will influence Company’s technology strategy and infrastructure. You will be expected to attain a clear understanding of the company’s business, customers, objectives, processes and procedures, and create software systems and website interfaces which support and align with them.

You will be working in Singapore as part of a small (8-10 member), agile and seasoned engineering team, reporting to a local manager. Additionally, you will work very closely, usually daily, with an engineering manager and marketing team in the United States. Therefore, you will be expected to regularly participate in meetings outside of normal business hours.

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline, with at least 6 years of professional experience in software engineering and Internet development

·         Has demonstrated mastery of the fundamentals of computer science, such as object-oriented design, design patterns, encapsulation, modularity and software lifecycles.

·         Has demonstrated mastery of more advanced software development technologies and concepts, such as relational databases, distributed systems, inter-process communication, event models and scalability.

·         Has demonstrated mastery of Java, EJB, JDBC and JSP, as well as the ability to design and program complex systems.

·         Has demonstrated mastery of XML and interactions between web services.

·         Has demonstrated mastery of HTML, CSS, AJAX and JavaScript.

·         Has demonstrated mastery of relational databases and their concepts, operational issues and considerations, and of the optimization of SQL queries.

·         Has demonstrated mastery of the software components of a website delivery stack, including web servers, application servers, databases, web caches, search engines.

·         Has solid understanding of software design, and is able to formulate and communicate designs for complex systems.
