Role Description:
Candidate is responsible for guiding the evolution of the network architecture for a Fortune500 company. Responsibilities include analyzing all aspects of the network, making recommendations on key technology, architecture and vendor decisions, driving a common vision in a multi-supplier global environment, and ensuring enforcement of key policies and practices across the infrastructure. Candidate is also responsible for acting as a network architecture advocate on behalf of the customer in helping manage multiple network suppliers, and have extensive experience dealing with multiple telecom suppliers and vendors.
Required skills & experience:
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical certification or experience.
• 8+years of experience in enterprise network architecture/engineering experience, specifically in a global environment.
• Extensive experience working with multiple telecom suppliers and vendors.
• Cisco certifications on CCDA/CCNP/CCIE.
• ITIL Foundation Certification is required.
• In-depth experience in the following areas:
o Routing and Switching
o VoIP, IPT and UC
o Network Security and IP Services (Caching, VPNS etc)
• Intimate knowledge of Enterprise Voice and Data networks, excellent understanding of networked applications, and experience with new technologies such as UC and Video/Content Distribution.
• Able to achieve results through working with a large group of peers in related functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills:
• Skills and experience in related disciplines such as Project Management, Change Management, Operations Management and Financial Analysis.
• Knowledge of Siemens and Nortel VoIP and Cisco and Checkpoint Security is a plus.
• Understanding of Enterprise Security Policy development and enforcement is also desired.
