Regional IT Manager (Far East Asia Pacific) – Permanent position based in Singapore for my client from Oil & Energy industry.

Main accountabilities: Both applications and infrastructure for the FEAP user group (about 120 users in India, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia). Ensuring the right support on time to internal customers, roll-out of corporate projects, budgeting and cost monitoring and people management.

Reporting line - IT Director based in the US

The scope: Regional IT manager will be responsible for day-to-day IT including both Applications and Infrastructure.  Strategic planning and overall project management will be handled at a corporate level. As such, the candidate will be about 75% applications, 20% infrastructure and 5% telecommunications.

The region covers FEAP region but we may extend to Middle East (still evaluating)

Direct reports total be 4 - 5 people (India and Singapore)

Main projects this person will be in charge of: Primarily day-to-day support responsibilities, customer alignment and staff management. Will play a role in regional projects but will take the direction of a global project lead/manager. 

Budget accountable for: Project budget responsibilities and annual budgeting responsibilities. 

Estimate of travel: Around 30%. Frequency of travel will be lower since the scope is limited to FEAP.  Meetings will be tied to projects and management meetings. Afternoon meetings (Singapore time) two or three times a week.

Challenges of the position for the 2 coming years: FEAP AX implementation. FEAP GSRS implementation.

Career/role progression perspectives for the next 3 years

The region and resulting responsibilities will grow quickly (+/- 50 new users within 2 years - roll out of big projects will imply maintenance and further help desk support in the future.

Required Skills:
·         Preference for Bachelors or Masters Degree. 
·         Oil & Energy industry experience would be a nice to have. 
·         Experience with ERP systems (AX a plus), managing helpdesk environments, and preferably for a corporate, not as a consultant.
·         Competencies which are critical – great leadership capabilities and influencing/ motivating/ mentoring skills. Financial acumen and problem solving are also key.
·         Strengths on which we want to build: Customer alignment, day-to-day support and Applications are primary. 
·         Hands on, capable to relate well at all levels, flexible and taking ownership.
